Enzo Mari was born in 1932 in Novara. Even as a student at the "Accademia delle Belle Arti" in Milan, he demonstrated intensive artistic activity, which continued throughout his career culminating in many personal and collective exhibitions. In 1963 he became the coordinator of the italian group "Nuove Tendenze" (New Trends), curating in 1965 the exhibition of optical kinetic, and program-art for the "Biennale" of Zagreb. He took part of various editions of the "Biennale" of Venice and the "Triennale" of Milan.One of his trademarks was to work in collaboration with manufacturers and production centers by continious research and experimentation of new shapes and significance of products, even in contrast with the traditional approach to industrial design.
