Uniflex were a manufacturer of modern furniture in the mid-20th century.
The Uniflex brand created bedroom and dining room furniture, manufacturing in rosewood or teak. Their designs included chairs, tables, wardrobes and stools.
Created and distributed by the company L Lazarus, Uniflex pieces contributed greatly to the introduction of a new aesthetic in home design throughout the 1950s and 1960s.
From the 1960s onwards, Uniflex introduced increasingly modernist pieces, creating a sideboard constructed from melamine, a material which it is difficult to damage. This durability made Uniflex products famous for their practicality.
The company is widely regarded as having been ahead of its time and Uniflex sideboards and chairs remain popular.
