The Omann family run businesses have become renowned for their contribution to Scandinavian design. In 1892 Gunni's cabinet-maker grandfather, Niels Omann founded Ølholm Mobelfabrik which went on to become one of Denmark's biggest producers of furniture. By the 1930's, his son (Gunni's father) Andreas, went on to establish Omann Jun which was later run by Gunni and his brother Bjarne. The family run business is still around today, now with a focus on bespoke, contemporary pieces and a small selection of reissued pieces from the past.
