We love Karakter because we feel Andy and the team really care about what we want to achieve, rather than simply selling us some furniture. When we established ourselves in Auckland over seven years ago we had a vision of the apartment we wanted to create...... Andy and the team at Karakter helped us make something quite special at our Mt Eden home. Even though we have now moved to a Christchurch and are in a new home, Karakter are still our go to store as we build another wonderful home. Andy has become a friend and knows when a new piece arrives that adds to our vision to give us a call....he understand and shares what we want to achieve. Thanks for a long a fruitful creative partnership.

About 10 years ago I purchased my first pieces from Karakter. A pair of Cassina LC1’s caught my eye - I’d been obsessed with Le Corbusier/ Perriand designed furniture since my time at art school and these two had the most splendid patina whilst still maintaining really excellent general condition.
Ever since this first purchase I’ve enjoyed adding to our collection with other beautiful examples of original mid century design, sourced by the knowledgeable, honest and passionate team at Karakter. The LC1’s still sit pride of place in our living room, and the patina just keeps getting better the more we enjoy them.

I had the pleasure of working with Karakter for one of the most anticipated birthday gifts of my wife's adult life - a Norman Cherner Armchair. Simran and the staff at Karakter were wonderful in helping to make special surprise a reality for her. Thank you!

Karakter has a beautiful selection with style and good taste. Highly recommended. We have been delighted with our purchases from Karakter. It is one of Auckland's most interesting stores.

The team at Karakter are fantastic to deal with. Their communication and attention to detail are second to none -what's more they really know their stuff and are very friendly. They obviously select their pieces with care, are very fastidious in their descriptions (and further photographs which were readily supplied at our request), as well as in undertaking any restorative work required prior to shipping. On both occasions we've dealt with them, the pieces arrived in beautiful condition, having been very carefully wrapped for transport. I suspect we'll end up buying more things we don't need from them!
